I still can't believe this, but my composition "Wiegenlied" has been shortlisted by the jury in the @rastermedia open call for the Soundtrack Europe 2025! And there were more than 3100 applications!😳 I am so thankful and honoured to have been seen, heard and acknowledged!🙏🏻✨ A big congratulations to the winners and fellow finalists! "Europe has been a laboratory and pioneer of avant-garde electronic music for over a century. Avant-garde simply means being ahead of your time and daring to do things that have not yet been heard, realized or thought of. To be guided by one's own personality, one's own thoughts and one's own experiences and not by the successful models of the past." My piece is one of the finalists in the category Elegiac, one of the five categories: "Europe of timbres and ambiences. The spectrum of original, avant-garde positions and milestones in music ranges from Messiaen's organ works to contemporary ambient music. Your music is part of a tradition and yet looks beyond the boundaries into uncharted sonic territory. Where do the melodies or textures come from and what do they refer to?" "Wiegenlied" was the first electroacoustic composition I ever made, and I was indeed guided by my own thoughts, and experiences of sleepless nights - my eternal inspiration.
